Hello, I'm asked to write back photoshop time stamps in meta data. Because I don't have photoshop why I should write back this data? I guess I'm asked because this is a default value configured somewhere in the system. Does anybody know, how and where to switch off just for photoshop? Writes back for xmp and exif is okay. Thank you in advance, HGF

These are the standard timestamps IMatch creates during file import. Photoshop is just the namespace name some of the tags uses.

If this is new to you, please read Metadata for Beginners for some basic information about metadata, how IMatch creates and processes it.

You may also find the article Why IMatch Wants to Write-back Metadata After Indexing New Files? in the IMatch knowledge-base interesting.

And of course How IMatch uses Date and Time Information

The Photoshop tag group has a misleading name. It is not just for/from Photoshop but it is an accepted part of the metadata standards for XMP tags regardless of software.

Not sure you can "switch it off" but I am pretty sure you don't want to do that as many software packages will reference some of these tags for key data.

I can do a deeper dive into the XMP metadata standards to provide some specific references.  Let me know.

Indeed, if it is a misleading name and if this tag is a common tag used by other sw, I'll leave it as it is. I don't want to complicate it. The idea was just to make my Imatch environment as small as possible. Many thanks, I'm good for now. Regards HGF
