I'd like to translate the most important parts of the user interface, because our parent are not speak foreign languages. Is it possible to translate only a part of it? How to do it, I am not a programmer. Thanks.

Jingo

If you would like to volunteer to translate IMatch into a language not already supported (see the Edit menu for supported languages), then I suggest you contact Mario (https://www.photools.com/support/).. always good to have more languages represented in the program!

This is certainly possible. I translate IMatch into Dutch. What language are you looking at?

It is not necessary to do it all in one go; you could even translate 1 word only. Ask Mario and I'm sure you'll get a quick reply.

There is a separate section of the board for translators: https://www.photools.com/community/index.php?board=29.0

If you want to help with translating IMatch, thank you!
But please be aware that IMatch is a big application and that it has many translateable items ('resources').
Especially when you start this looks a bit daunting, but you can translate piece for piece, as you find time.

To translate IMatch you only need a text editor that supports XML (e.g. the free Visual Studio Code) and a GitHub client application (which is also free).
IMatch resources are managed at GutHub to allow for version control and cooperation.

There is a slightly dated documentation which explains how IMatch is localized for different languages:

https://www.photools.com/imatch-developer-reference/imatch-translator-reference/

This also explains the different resource types used by IMatch etc. Have a look at this page first.

I'd like to translate IMatch Anyware web interface, and only the main things, because our parents are not speaking any foreign languages.

Ah, sorry. I misread your post. I thought you wanted to translate IMatch, not IMatch Anywhere  ;)

Translating IMatch Anywhere WebViewer is much easier!

1. To translate IMatch Anywhere you'll need a free software called Poedit (https://poedit.net/).
After installing it, run it.

2. Click on Create New Translation

3. Select the file template.pot from the po sub-folder of the IMatchViewer folder on your disk. This folder contains the IMatch Anywhere WebViewer.

4. Select your language from the dialog.

5. Start translating. Poedit is quite simple to use and has a built-in help.
Basically you see the English text on top and you enter the corresponding text in your language below.

This process creates a new file in the "po" folder, e.g. es_ES.po if you would translate to Spanish.
I will need this file to include your translation into IMatch WebViewer. It is compiled as part of the build process.

I can make a build for you once in a while so you get quicker feedback for your translation.

If you want to be able to compile your translation yourself in order to see the results immediately you will have to install a few free tools, like None.JS, grunt and grunt-angular-gettext. Not difficult, just a bit of work.

I have done 85% of it. Some things I don't really understand, mostly in the Administrator Panel. Sometime I did not find the correct Hungarian word, although I do understand and use the word in English. Could you please compile it to test. I don't really get how to do it, although I see that is not a big deal (Might you show me a video or a step-by-step help on the web? Don't bother creating one.). Thank you!

Mario

Great. I will make a new build soon.

Please contact me via my support email and I will send a new version of the WebViewer to you.
You should then be able to see your translations.

Probably I should make a special edition which has the translation.js (which contains all resources after the compile) in a separate file so I can ship it more easily.
Currently the build process for IMatch WebViewer compiles everything into one .js file which improves performance a lot. This includes the translations.

Is there anything new in translating of the user interface in the new version of IMA?

IMatch Anywhere WebViewer is still translated using "PoEdit". Is this your question?

To update your translation, open it in POEdit. Then go to Catalog > Update from POT file. Select the POT file shipped with IMA WebViewer (PoEdit should have remembered it automatically). PoEdit will then jump right to the first untranslated text.

Yes, thank you. I have nearly translated the previous version to Hungarian. So, I will continue it.

Mario

Great.
I have separated the JavaScript file with the translations so I can send you an updated file if you send me the translation file.

Is it possible to do the language file by myself? Because sometime I should know the context, so I want to see the transleted interface. But I do not want to bother you with every steps I made.

Mario

Yes. But you will have to install several (free) development tools on your machine. And I need to prepare you some custom scripts which control the compilation of your resource file.
Please contact me via my email (support email address) and I will see if I can write you some instructions.
