Signature only one character

Is it correct that only only one character can be entered for a signature, see attachement?

This is correct.
This feature (and similar other features with user-defined text) was abused by spammers to link to porn sites and web sites with illegal content.
I had to turn of everything that they could use to spam or troll this friendly community.
Now I have to detect and delete only a few spam accounts per week. During the bad times I had to detect and delete hundreds of spam accounts per day...

Mario, could that character limit be raised a little, while still providing protection from the Spammers?  Say, to 4 (could only hold HTTP), or 7 (only HTTP:// would fit).

Since this community is indexed by google, even a brand name or similar used in the signature of many (spam) posts could push that brand/thing up in the ranking...thus it will be abused.
Besides, I don't think a four letter signature would be useful.

If somebody really wants a signature in this community, I can manually add it to the database. Contact me via support email address
