Result Windows "reset" and focus the first file again (removing selection)

This appears to be new behavior in IMatch 2025.6, and it seems to happen only in Result Windows.

I originally noticed this when deleting a file (and a small selection of files also) in a Result Window.  The File Window "jumped" back to the top, and focused the first file again.  I assumed that since I had deleted the file(s) previously focused, IMatch didn't know where to put the focus, and just jumped to File-1, which was several "pages up" from where I was working (although I feel like this didn't happen in previous versions - I thought the File Window "stayed at the page" were the deleted file was, and another nearby file just got the focus).

But then, I noticed that this was happening also with Metadata Changes.  I have seen the focused File(s) lose focus (and the focus return to File #1) with these actions:

  • Exiting the Viewer (when the file shown in the Viewer is supposed be the one to get focused in the FW)
  • Adding Location Data in the Metadata Panel (Default Layout), and clicking the green check mark
  • Adding Keywords in the Keywords Panel, and clicking the green check mark

The thing is, it doesn't happen consistently.  The above list is ordered roughly by the prevalence of the "reset" occurring (I have only seen the "reset" behavior upon exiting the Viewer twice, while it happens fairly regularly when adding keywords).

Hm, strange.

This should only happen when a result window is reused (from an App or currently the experimental AI-assisted search feature). When a new result is set from the outside, the file window should reset it's state. When it reloads because of a change (like metadata editing) it should retain state.

I'll have a look for the next release.
