I have a lot of Pending Metadata Writeback.

Will I have to get IMatch to do the write-back to see the metadata changes I did before the reboot?

Metadata changes are stored immediately in the database. They can be written to the files later.

What reboot? Are you saying your computer 'rebooted' while IMatch was running?

Mario

I don't follow, sorry.

If a file is in the "pending write-back" state, it has metadata in the database that has not been written to the image file yet. That's all. You can write-back at any convenient time.

I was wondering if IMatch displays Metadata from the image file or from the database. If the changed data haven't been written back to the file AND IMatch displays metadata read from the image file, it would explain why I'm not seeing the data I expected.

Mario

IMatch displays metadata stored int he database. That's the sole purpose of caching metadata in the database - fast and efficient access even for off-line files.

I recommend to read the Metadata for Beginners help topic. It explains how IMatch reads, stores and processes metadata, which metadata standards exist and a lot more.
