After I imported files I have a few of them in two copies. Here is an example:
_DSC8559.NEF
and
_DSC8559.NEF_original

Why I got it and how to deal with them?

Thank you!

Mario

These files are temporary files created by ExifTool when it is not used with the overwrite_original command line parameter.
IMatch does not use these files in almost all situations. Maybe you did process these files with another software which uses ExifTool or ExifTool itself?

No, no other SW has been used on this folder/files. Just iMatch

Just delete them then. When files of this kind reappear, make a note of which tasks you did before (e.g. which commands you used that manipulate metadata directly via ExifTool).

I think it was after "Updating Metadata in Files..."

Thank you, Mario, for your support and extremely quick replies! It is outstanding!

The only situation in which these files could remain would be ExifTool crashing due to rare reasons. That would show in the log file, though.

I work by the old standards.
Where support actually meant something

I've had support contact with two major IT companies over the last days, and I can tell you, things are going downhill quickly. Not impressed.
Seven layers of "bots" and AI-driven (stupid) "How can we help you" thingies. And then you can only hope that a) a real person steps in and b) he/she knows what he/she's doing. Really, I was not impressed.
