Collections - Recently Updated: What criteria used?

I took a jpg file and created a new version via Photoshop.
When I look under Collections->Recently Updated -> Today it shows me both files: the unchanged original and the new version.

I did change a category assignment (not keyword) on the original!
Modify date/time on the original has not changed!

Question: What criteria is used to consider a file updated?

Mario

These collections are based on the file history maintained by IMatch for each file.
Remember that Photoshop may save your original file when you create a copy from it, because it stores the last used export format or the path or the "last used" info in the PSD.

This will change the "last modified" timestamp on disk, IMatch rescans the file, updates the file history, which updates the collection.
Check the file history of your files in the History Panel. Does it show other data than the collection?

The last modified date on disk was not changed - thus it can not have been the criteria which caused it
to be shown under Updated Today. Thus my question. (Is it a bug?)

Mario

I'm not aware of any bug. Did you look at the file history? What does it contain?
I've checked 3 databases and none shows changes from today - which is correct.

Since you have so many unique issues recently and you work with your own apps all the time, please double-check all eventualities, your system, your other applications. And look at the file history of the file in question before you consider this a bug in IMatch.

History shows the file as updated.
Explorer properties shows an unchanged modify date.
Screenshots attached.
This is why I think that Imatch keeps some other internal status which shows the file as modified.

PS: This all came up because I looked for a way to select the files that I changed today.

Mario

This event is logged when the file is rescanned because of an external change, when the file metadata is modified by some event or user interaction etc. This also counts as "file modified today", not only when the physical file changed on disk.
