Imatch as Viewer for GPX-Tracks

Cycling is one of my hobby activities and I have a lot of GPX-tracks from bike rides on my hard disk.

I'd like to import GPX-tracks into the database of Imatch so that they are listed in the "Media & Folders" View.
.GPX can be added to the index by defining a new file format for .GPX under "Preferences".

Question:
Is there a way to hand over a GPX-track from "Media & Folders" to the "Map Panel" to view it there?
A context menu for .GPX-files in "Media & Folders" offering such an option would be perfect.

The only possibility I have found so far to view a .GPX track was to use the function "Load GPX Track Log" within the "Map Panel"

This is the correct command to import an GPS track log into the map panel.

When I understand your post correctly, you

a) Have added .gpx as a user format because you want to see these files in IMatch?
b) You now want a feature that allows you to drag and drop GPS files onto the map panel to start the import?

How often would this be used? Usually you import a GPX file only once and then either keep it of more it to backup...

Hello Mario,

thanks for your quick reply!

Yes, I have added .gpx as user defined format.
Folder with .gpx files has been added in "Media & Folders" for the import and .gpx files are listed there.
And now I want to use the "Map Panel" as Viewer for single of those .gpx files
How can I select a gpx-file in "Media & Folders" to open and view it in the "Map Panel" without using "Load GPX Track Log" in "Map Panel"?

Regards Ralf

Is it possible to import .kml tracks into the map panel, or convert .kml files to .gpx

You can't. The Map Panel does not support drag & drop for GPX files. To load a GPX file, use the corresponding command in the map panel.

Tip: Select the folder in the Media & Folders tree and press Ctrl+C. This copies the name of the folder into the Windows clipboard. You can then paste it into the "Open GPX" file dialog in the map panel to quickly open the folder. The file dialog then shows you all GPX files in that folder. The Map Panel also remembers the last used folder.

The Map Panel supports all common variants of GPX files. I'm sure there are several free online converts which can convert KML file into GPX:

There are also several free desktop gps converters. I've used GPSBabel https://www.gpsbabel.org/ for a while. The only 'bad' thing I can say about it is the number of file formats supported!
