iMatch 2017 Causes Appcrash

When I try to launch iMatch 2017 on my computer it causes an APPCrash when launched.

I tried to do a repair install.  It still crashes the same way.

Operating System is Windows 7 X64.

I did not install to the default location but provided a path to a different directory and Hard Drive.
Install location d:\imatch6\

Imatch 5.8.4 still works on this system.

The Faulting Module libcef.dll is a file contained in the iMatch 2017 install.

libcef.dll is part of the Chromium browser contained in IMatch.

Please check the file IMATCH6_CEFLOG.TXT and you should see a more detailed error message.
I think your problem is the same as reported by other users who did not install into the official Windows program files folder. CEF cannot start because it cannot find some of its binary data files. I'm already investigating this and checking why Chromium does this.

Until then, please just install IMatch in the default folder suggested by Windows and the IMatch installer and it should work nicely.

The Following is the contains of the IMATCH6_CEFLOG.TXT file:

I have not had a chance to reinstall yet.

Yep, that's the error. Chromium cannot find some of it's resources and does not like it at all.

I installed to the default directory and the iMatch 2017 now works.

I also have a question about the iMatch preferences file "iMatch5.pts".

Can I use the version 5 preference file on version 2017 or do I need to reenter my preferences into the new version?

IMatch 6 automatically duplicates the PTS file when it first starts and copies it into the \IMatch6\config folder.
All your settings will be available.

If this did not happen, maybe your previous experiments and problems disabled the automatic data migration. Please check your TEMP folder for a log file names IMATCH6_LOG_MIGRATE.TXT. This file will tell me if the migration was performed correctly.
