On Dec. 20, 2016 my computer refused to boot off of any thing (USB, Flash drive, CD, any thing that the Dell support or that myself) could think of. (I have Dell Pro Support) After three days Dell sent a technician out and he replaced the mother board. And the computer still would not boot. So dell sent me a new computer and guess what? The new computer would not start either. After going around in circles with Dell tech  support and two weeks later a different technician and his manager agreed to send me another computer. A week later they sent me a rack mount system which I could not use. Now I have a workstation that wont boot and a Rack Mount that I can't use.

A week later I get a call from Dell telling me that I have to send the Rack mount back before I can get any more support. Well I had already called them trying to get a shipping Label so I could send the Rack back. Two days later I got the shipping label and sent the Rack back. After a week I called Dell and to my surprise I was told that I also had to send the computer that would not boot back and after they got it back I could get tech support again It took ten days for Dell to get it.

Any on March 1, 2017 about three months later Dell sent me a working computer but I'm still waiting for the hard disk cage. My holds eight hard drives four drives and four SSD drives on the top.

Please take a look at the drives image and answer the questions.

I assume the question is "IMatch database outside...", right?

Put your IMatch database on a disk (or in a folder) you don't plan to index in your database.
Which means any disk except D:
Unless you also want to index files from your other disks.

I have to rebuild my Drive C and I have to reinstall IMatch. Drive C: is a new SSD 500GB and I will put Windows 10 and some other Apps on drive C:.  I will have Four other empty 500 GB SSD drive and four3.5 drives.  Now on which drive should I install IMatch 5 and which drive should I install my database. Now you ssaid to make sure that folder is outside the folder herachy you planto manage in IMatch.

IMatch database on a SSD of course.
Any SSD which does not hold files you index in your database will be good.

So install IMatch on Drive C:/ with Windows 10 along with Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom and some other apps.? Or put IMatch on a 500GB SSD? And then create my database on another 500GB SSD with some other files and apps. Or put the database on a drive like F: or G: Would you explain this to me? Make sure that folder is outside the folder hierarchy you  plan to manage in IMach.

Install IMatch in the default location. Windows will do that for you.
Store your database on whatever disk you like. Just make sure that you don't include the folder containing your database in your database.

Yes. Let IMatch do it, it will go into C. So the program IMatch is on C.

Then I would put your Database on the (fast) 500 GB SSD.

And the files (images ...) I would put again on another SSD or, in your case on F or G.

So, finally, the program is on C.
The database for IMatch on another drive, best a fast SSD.

And the files, with what you feed your Database, is again on another SSD. Or instead an SSD, on F or G in you case.
Best wishes from Switzerland! :-)

So is this what you are saying?  Okay let me see if I have this right.

Drive C: 500GB SSD: Install Windows 10, IMatch, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, and other Appactions.

Drive D: 2TB All of my Pictures: And the files (images ...) I would put again on another SSD or, in your case on F or G.

Database on the (fast) 500 GB SSD: IMatch 5 DB Beginning March 15, 2017
