Canon 5DS R CR2 files display corrupted.

I have just added some CR2 RAW files from a Canon 5DS R to iMatch. They are 60+ MB each file. Despite forced rescans every file is corrupted. They all display fine elsewhere. I have the latest FastPictureViewer codec pack installed and the WIC result was as follows:

Testing file 'E:\ZoomBrowser EX\Image Library One\MASTER Files\2017\RAW\Canon 5DSR_IMG_01694.CR2'
Thumbnail: Codec 'Canon Raw Decoder (FastPictureViewer Codec Pack)'
      () 160x104 pixel in 16 ms.
Preview: Codec 'Canon Raw Decoder (FastPictureViewer Codec Pack)'
      () 8688x5792 pixel in 0 ms.
Full resolution: Codec 'Canon Raw Decoder (FastPictureViewer Codec Pack)'
      () 8736x5856 pixel in 0 ms.

RESULT: A codec for this file format is installed and it looks like it fully supports the format.

All other RAW file formats are displaying OK in iMatch including CR2 and CRW files from earlier Canon cameras.

I have checked and the video card driver is up to date. OS is Windows 10 64 bit and is fully up to date.

I have attached a screenshot of the iMatch window.

What could be causing this?

You can send me a sample file. And also attach the log file from an IMatch session where you Added a few of these files.
See log file in the IMatch help for more info. If IMatch runs into problems processing these files (reading them via WIC is just one step) the log file will show more info.

Do the files display the Quick View Panel and the Viewer?

Hello Mario,

Thanks for your reply.

I attach the log file after adding a few images.

The images are corrupted both in the viewer and the quick view.

What is the best way to send you a sample file?

Mario

You can upload it to your cloud space (OneDrive, Dropbox etc.) and then send a link to my support email : https://wwww.photools.com/support.

Just in case: Please re-install your FPV codecs. A recent Windows update caused a problem with some FPV installs and re-installing solves that.

If both the thumbnail and the Viewer/Quick View panel is wrong we have a general problem with these files.
For the thumbnails, IMatch uses Windows WIC "through" a 3rd party image library.
For the Viewer it uses WIC directly, and loads the files directly via WIC into DirectX. If this shows the same effect, there is a problem in the WIC system most likely.

That indeed was the problem Mario.

I first tried a repair of the codec pack and then a forced update but no change. Then I uninstalled the codec pack and did a forced update with no change. I then reinstalled the codec pack and did a forced update and all files appeared as they should in thumbnails, viewer and quick view.

Thanks for the guidance.

Good News!  :)
Glad to hear that you could solve it.
