[2023.6.4] Use-defined filters will not be refreshed

With latest version, the file window will not be refreshed, if user-defined filters will be unchecked.

As first I thought it is an issue with the safed user-def filter. Therfore, I have created a new filter but the behaviour is the same.

Edit 01:
I mean this filter menu:

I think I have already fixed this for the next release.
When the last filter is deactivated, the File Window does not automatically refresh but has to be reloaded with <F5> explicitly.
This glitch was caused by an optimization that reduces the number of reloads the File Window performs while users work with filters.

I think I have this same problem in 2023.6.4. However the F5 refresh doesn't work unless I first click back in the file window. (I suspect the first F5 refresh is refreshing the Filter window, not the file window).

screen01 is the start point.
screen02 clicks a filter to see all .PSD (Photoshop) files.
screen03 unclicks the .PSD filter but only the .PSD files are (still) shown.

I'm looking forward to the next update release!

Yes. You can also pause and un-pause the File Window. Or the filter. Or the Quick Filter Bar.
All that will trigger a reload of the File Window despite no filter being enabled anymore. This has been fixed for the next release as documented in the release notes.

Just updated to 2023.6.6. A filter Pause/unpause works as expected. Unchecking the filter selection still does not refresh for me.

I have to uncheck the filter. Click in the file window. Hit F5. To get the full file display.

QuoteUnchecking the filter selection still does not refresh for me.
I have to uncheck the filter.
What do you mean by that? What is a filter selection and how differs it from unchecking the filter?
What exactly do you do? Best explain each step so I can reproduce it?

Do you deactivate one or more filters with the check box in the blue caption bar?
Or do you work with the filter list at the top, deactivating the orange "Filter Panel" entry or a previously stored filter?

Does pausing the Filter Panel work?
Does opening the Quick Filter Ribbon work?

Message #2 above is my exact sequence of using the Filter panel (top right in the screen captures above). Check a filter (.PSD files in this example). When unchecking the (.PSD) filter the Files window does not refresh and still only shows .PSD files.

Mario

Stored filers. OK. I'll have a luck for the next regular release.
I guess it should work automatically until you disable the last stored filter.
In that case, pausing the Filter Panel will do the same and refresh the File Window.

I hope to return to the standard six/eight week release interval, so this bug fix may take a bit.

A additional wrinkle to this problem..... If the last stored filter selection shows _no_ files in the file window, unclick the filter, and even the F5 refresh does not show the available files. I have to click out to another folder and come back to the work folder to refresh what files are viewed in the work folder.

So if I have no PSD files, or no Rated 5 files, for example, it takes extra clicks to get to view the folder contents again.

I still have the "click out of the folder workaround here" but the workflow using filters is getting more painful.
