The "Search categories" input field int the Category Panel offers a list of terms previously searched for. The list automatically appears as soon as I start typing which is really helpful:

But when I switch to another tab like "Current", the list stays open and obscures the content:

Workaround: Close the "history list" e.g. with Esc before switching to another tab.

Not shure if I should open a new thread:
Why are the search and filter functions now at the top of the panel?
I really liked them more (and use them frequently) at the bottom.
Also the history list possibly blocks the view of search results (when they are at the top of the displayed categories) :-(

Consistency. Find/Filter is now always at the top, in all panels that support this.

I don't understand. Which history? The drop down that shows all recent search patterns when you click on the caret button?
Screen shot perhaps?

Yes, this history - but not when you click the caret, that's fine.
When you search by typing there is a huge empty/dark area below matches if there is no match in history.
(The total height remains from when you start typing and then narrow it down by adding more characters.)
See thrinn's screenshots in the first post (below "weste").

This huge space is the drop-down list. It was missing a border so you can't see it.
Not sure why this box is so high, Windows should make it just high enough. I'll have a look.

I've packed the elements a bit and made sure that the drop-down window has a border.
I've also improved the cursor up/down handling for users who prefer keyboard interaction only.
