The International Press Telecommunications Council (IPTC) hopes to make photos more accessible for people with disabilities, including vision impairment. New IPTC Photo Metadata Standards include a pair of new properties to allow screen reading software to describe visual content.

This seems most likely to be of interest to professional photographers, but also to others who create Web content and/or may need to communicate to the targeted audience.

As soon as ExifTool supports these new tags (and I'm sure it will quickly after these enhancements have been finalized), IMatch will support the tags like all other tags for display, editing, in variables etc.
The new standard will be published on November 4.
