Set zoom level for dive-zoom?

Is it possible to set a specific zoom percentage for the dive-zoom option? Most of my image files are very large (4000, 5000 px etc.) and the 100% dive-zoom is not helpful for me. I feel like if I could set it at 80% or 75% that it would be much more useful. I've looked through the interface settings and the help manual but I couldn't find an option for configuring this. I'm aware of being able to change the zoom through keyboard shortcuts etc. while in the viewer but can I actually set a default for dive-zoom? If this is not possible, could it be added at some point? I would love to have this feature.

Thanks.

Mario

The dive zoom switches between fit-to-window and 100% view. The reason is that you want to see the true pixels, without any softening or other 'effects' introduced by scaling the image to a scale different than 100%.

Photoshop has also, as far as I know, a "fixed" zoom, what is 100%.
Because for realy checking for example the sharpness, or doing some manipulating stuff you need mostly 100%.
BTW, I would not say, nowadays, that 4000-5000 are very large files. But of course this depends, from what kind of view we are looking at the pixels.
Best wishes from Switzerland! :-)

Thank you for the replies. I understand the importance of being able to quickly zoom to 100% to look at the true pixels etc. However, what I was wondering is can the 100% value be changed to something like 85% or 75% somewhere in the application. The reason is that for some large images, I simply want to zoom in to look at a portion of the image without zooming in all the way. In those instances, clicking an area of the image and having it zoom in is much faster than zooming in through ctrl+ etc. and then panning around. I was wondering if I could override the dive-zoom to more closely match my workflow on how I check my images. If I followed correctly, this is not currently possible and it sounds like my workflow is a little unusual :) lol so no worries there.

Thanks again.

I think you will find that your problem has been solved in the 5.5 version of IMatch  :)

Not only is the Quick View panel much faster than before (because I switched everything to hardware-based rendering) but it also supports new commands and zoom modes. You can zoom in using the keyboard to 10%, 25%, 50%, 100%, 200% and you can smoothly zoom between 10% and 800% using <Alt> and the mouse. Of course you can also switch between fit-to-window and 100% mode using the keyboard or double-click. Dive zoom works as before (to 100%) and there is a dive-out zoom as well (zooming to 100% when you are in a scale > 100%.

The Quick View panel keeps the last zoom level you have set so you only need to 'dial in' your favorite scale and you are set.

4000-5000 pixel is not bad, but looking at modern cameras which output 36, 48 or even 80 MP files (8,000 x 10,000 pixel) the all new Viewer and Quick View panel in IMatch 5.5 will be very welcome to many users out there.

I know you are busy so reading "Thank You "replies is probably not that important...but thanks for all the great work and feature improvements that you constantly implement. Those new additions sound awesome!

Thanks again.
