These little codes are a very important topic. Maybe not for 'home' users but for studio and commercial users.
I've just added a handy endpoint to IMWS which produces a QR-Code for the specified text and returns it as a Base64-encoded binary string.
This string can be directly processed in JavaScript or used as the src= attribute for an <img> tag to display it.

To show the use, I've extended the near Copy Data App with an option to not only copy the text into the clipboard but also render it as a QR-Code.
A very easy way to transfer metadata from IMatch to a smart phone or tablet, to use arbitrary data to check files with a bar code reader etc. (click to zoom or use your smart phone to read it):
