Running Backup

I'm trying to run backup, every time I run backup it comes back with "Error: Failed to create package file". Ran diagnostics with no errors. The report has pages and pages of stuff, but does not indicate where the problem is. What do I do?

Do you mean Pack & Go?

Note that Pack & Go is NOT a backup tool. It's designed to comfortably transfer IMatch databases and settings between PCs, for users who use IMatch on multiple computers. I have only made IMatch offer Pack & Go automatically after learning that many users out there don't do regular backups of their system. And then having a copy of their IMatch database and settings is better than nothing.

Anyway, the "Cannot create package file" can have many reasons. From full disks to insufficient privileges.


If you report such issues, always include the log file IMatch produces (log file).
Pack & Go also creates a log and protocol file file in the TEMP folder on your system.

IMatchPackAndGo.txt

ZIP these files and attach them. This will give us more information to work with.
To open the TEMP folder on your system, type %TEMP% into the Windows Explorer address bar.
