Hello,

I've got my IMATCH DB on my laptop (1TB SSD) and I keep the current year images on the SSD. All other (older) images are on an external drive.

For viewing and working with the files when the external drive is offline, I use the cache.

It works fine, but I am noticing that I keep running out of space on my laptop drive. I probably should change settings but I would like to hear your opinion on which ones.

I am now indexing a lot more video files in the DB, do these affect the cache size?

Changing the working mode to "on-demand" seems reasonable but I fear that if the first time I want to access a file, it is not online, then there will be no cache image and therefore it defeats the purpose.

Any ideas? Here are my current settings. Thanks in advance!

Not really. IMatch produces one cache file per video, and the size depends on your cache settings.
IMatch stores multiple thumbnails per video in the database, to enable the hover preview in the file window.

You can set the cache to on-demand on the laptop so IMatch only adds new cache files when you actually look at an image.
You can then create cache files for the files you plan to take off-line in advance using the corresponding Ctrl+Shift+F5 commands on the folder(s).
You can enable cache purging and set a smaller cache size. Even a 20GB cache should go a long way.
