Statusbar shows

When buddy-files are hidden and I open a master-file with "Send to Viewer": In the viewer, I have activated "Show visual proxy" and so it is the buddy-file that is shown in the viewer. This is expected and nice. In the statusbar of the viewer there is a cell that shows the resolution of the image being shown. But that resolution always reflects the master-file, even when it is actually the buddy that is shown. My buddy-files are often cropped. I would therefore like the statusbar to show me the resolution of the file being shown. This is to help me when deciding which images to keep or delete when looking though them. Is it a way to achieve this?

The visual proxy only serves as the visual representation. All metadata, file properties, Attributes etc. still must come from the master. The visual proxy is mostly designed to be shown as the stack top in collapsed version stacks, allowing you to hide masters and intermediary files below the "final" image.

I find this a bit confusing. Because, for example, the Histogram, shows for the visual proxy. And in my view this is the correct thing to do. But why not so for the resolution-information? I don't understand.

This is how it was implemented. I think this works that way since IMatch 5, back in 2016.
You can just disable the display of the visual proxy in the Viewer and everything matches again. Rarely a need to display proxies in the Viewer.
