Hello Mario,

I'm trying to import test file Animals & Pets_Category_Test3.txt by using Category Import dialog (see attached file).

Result is not correct. Category 'Ant' should be on the same level as 'bird', as on the attached screen, which I've corrected manually by drag and drop Ant on Animals & Pets level.

I'm not able to manage correct import by changing file structure, could you pls. advise. Thank you.

Mario

Thank you very much Mario,

Just couple of questions not related to the above issue.

1. Whether is it possible to import alias category via TXT file by indicating in the file the path to aliased category (field 'Is alias of')?
2. Strange behaviour for Category filter tab at Category view - it is not possible to use Copy-Paste Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V for 'Search:' and 'Filter' fields, only manual entry. It is small inconvenience, but what could be the reason behind?

1. No. The text import feature is a ancient import function that is really barely used these days.
The native category import/export format is XML, which is a much richer format and also supports formulas, properties, alias categories etc.

2. This may be. A limitation in the user interface toolkit or the way the edit control there works in that scenario.
I've actually never thought about pasting a search term into the filter control, it's quicker to type, no? No other user ever reported this, so I assume most users just type in what they search for.

If you consider this to be a bug that I should look into, please open a new bug report.
