Unable to export/import custom metadata layout

I've created a custom Metadata layout on Database 1, and I'm trying to use the same layout on database 2.
When trying to export my custom layout from database 1 (Metadata Panel>Edit Layout>Export Panel Layouts), the layout in question does not appear on the pop-up list. The same happens when trying the Import Panel Layout option on database 2.
I've tried copy and paste but it doesn't work either.
I can't find anything in the  Import & Export panel either.
Both databases are saved in the same computer so this is not an user elated issue as I had previously.
Please check the screen shot attached showing the "Arnold_Img-Basic" and it's custom panels saved in database 1
How can I make this work?
Thanks
Arnold

You cannot export a part of a layout (Individual panels).

You can export Arnold_Img-Basic (which is the layout), but not the panel Arnold_Image, which is part of the Arnold_Img-Basic layout.
Select Arnold_Img-Basic to export it.

Hi Mario
I've tried everything.
Please check the attached image.
These are the only options available when trying to export my layout.
Arnold_Img-Basic is simply not there, I can't choose it to be exported.

This is correct.

Just enter the file name you want to export your layout too.
IMatch will store all layouts or the selected layout (depending on your choice) to that file.

To import your layout into another database, select that file name in the import dialog.

Hi Arnold,
do you mean that there is no Arnold_Img-Basic file yet? You just have to enter a filename and click Save to export all layouts at once. I am always a bit reluctant to contradict Mario (usually he knows best...) but I think you can not export only one specific layout by "selecting" it. However, there is a (rather crude) workaround described in the help: See Exporting Selected Layouts.

Thanks Thrinn and Mario
It's all clear now and I managed to have my custom layout on the 2nd database, thanks to both of you.
I believe the main problem is that this is counterintuitive (at least for me ...).
I expected to be presented with a list of layouts which could be exported so I could choose the one(s) I want to export.
Anyway, problem solved.
Thanks again

No.

You either select the "export selected" or "all" layout options, and then export these layouts to a file name of your choice.

Hi Mario
Where do I find the "export selected" or "all" layout options you mentioned

Mario

Sorry, this was removed a while ago due to never being used by IMatch users. Mixed that up with File Window layouts.

But it is very easy to do:

1. Delete the panel layouts you don't want to export.
2. Export.
3. Close the layout editor dialog with Cancel to avoid any change in your existing layouts.

OK, I'm relieved I'm not going mad as I could not see that any where...
That is what Thorsten pointed out (

Anyway, lesson learned
