Hello everyone,,
Imagine you wanr to change or create a new window layout.
So you click on the icon of the file window layout and choose the option Edit Layouts.
Then you have to choose the Attribute or the tag, etc.
As you have 4 headers and 8 footers to choose and personalize , I think that if we have a "field" between  Tag and Alignment called Description would help the user to identify the footer or the header.
This is particularly useful for the users who want only to use in the Attributes the Custom Templates.
In these cases the user only see in Attribute the words Custom Template and to see what this Template is he must go to the Custom Template field and read the code to see what it is.
If we have a Description field we could put on it what that Template does.
Best regards.

There is a Description field in the layout edit which allows you to write down notes about your layout, what it does, why you created it that way etc.
It can take virtually any amount of text.

I don't think it makes sense to add description fields for each individual tag.

You can also use the Notes App to keep detailed field info ... I use the Notes App as a text editor to create each field of my layout since some are quite long and complex.  Adding thoughts/notes in this way is a backup file for each field as needed.  Copy/paste into the editor works great and Apply lets you see the results immediately for tweaking.
