Viewing files - more picture, less frames
« on: May 11, 2019, 11:01:40 PM »
Is there a way to stretch the photos as much as possible? I don`t want much frame. When using the Viewer, I want as little frames around the photos as possible. How?

The Viewer can display images at zoom rates up tp 800%. Is this what you mean? Have you ever used the zoom in the Viewer?
Or do you mean the Viewer should stretch images smaller than the screen to fill the screen, and whatever zoom factor required? This is also possible of course.
Use Alt+Z (Enlarge smaller images) to toggle or use the corresponding command in the right.-click menu > Zoom.

The Viewer

Very handy: All frequently used keyboard commands, organized by feature:

Thank you!

One more question:

I have two screens. I have set the Viewer to show 8 photos. Is it possible to let the secondary display show the photo currently selected in the Viewer in full screen?

Or: In Viewer toggle between thumbnail-size and full screen- size for the photo currently selected in the Viewer?

I'm not quite sure that I understand what you want to achieve.

The Viewer can be moved to any screen, but there is only one Viewer. There is no additional Viewer window you can move to another screen.
Left-clicking in any of the Viewer panels zooms the image to 100%. If you have enabled the link mode (<L> key), this will also zoom (and pan) all other panels - ideal for close-up comparisons.

You can move the Quick View Panel to your secondary monitor and maximize it to see the file currently focused in the File Window in a large size.

Want to use the Viewer on one display and a full screen Picture on the secondary display of the currently focused file in the Viewer. Is that possible?

No. The Viewer and the Quick View Panel are the main features for viewing images. There is no 3rd feature which allows you to see yet another image on another monitor.

If the Viewer and the Quick View panel in combination are not sufficient for your purpose, I suggest you use an external tool for viewing more images on more monitors.
You can create a Favorite for the external tool or make it the default tool for opening your files. Then you can launch it with a single mouse click, a keyboard shortcut or Ctrl+Enter.
