Copy filename to clipboard
« on: December 20, 2017, 04:00:29 PM »
Hi - does anyone know if an app exists to copy the filename/s of selected file/s into the clipboard? I want to copy just the filenames, not the complete path.

There used to be an old-style script that did this, but I can't find an equivalent for the iMatch 2017 environment.

Best wishes

Have a look at "Sample App: Clipboard": Select some files, then "Copy Selected Files". Paste the clipboard contents, you will see something like:
Code: [Select]
D:\Data\TESTBILDER IMatch\Test 03\008-1.JPG
D:\Data\TESTBILDER IMatch\Test 03\008-3.JPG
D:\Data\TESTBILDER IMatch\Test 03\008-4.JPG
D:\Data\TESTBILDER IMatch\Test 03\008-4-1.JPG

Or just select the files in the file window, use "Copy", and paste the pathes.

[EDIT]: Sorry, did not read your post correctly. You want only filenames, without pathes. For that, my hints do not work.

Okay, to present a correct solution:
Use the "Copy Data App" with {File.NameExt}. This will give you a list of the file names.
Code: [Select]
008-1.JPG
008-3.JPG
008-4.JPG
008-4-1.JPG

The Copy Data App  is exactly the tool for this job. Or for all cases where you need to copy arbitrary or specifically formatted data. Or you need a QR Code to transfer data from IMatch to your smart phone. Or. ..

The Using the Copy Data App with Your Office Application article in the IMatch Knowledge Base shows additional uses.
