Light table sort by script?
« on: April 09, 2015, 05:06:02 PM »
Is it possible to create the light table sort by script?
I have lists with sequence numbers and file names. I want to create a new category with the files in the same order.

Thanks
Hans

You currently don't have access to light table sort sequences from scripting.

If you can get your sequence numbers into an attribute you can sort by it.
(I do this as follows: I manually sort the files, then I run a script which puts sequence
numbers into an attribute. This way my ordering is stored. For use outside of IM I
then run a renamer preset which pre-pends the sequence number to the file name.
This way these files sort as wanted in Windows.)

To convert a category/folder from sort by sequence to custom sort you need
to Reset the custom sort: Right click on a file -> additional functions ->Reset Custom Sort.
Then set your category/folder sort to custom. Your files stay in the order of the sequence numbers
but you can now custom sort them manually.
Hope this helps
