Add Exiftool version

On Dashboard under the topic "System" it would be great to have the exiftool version and perhaps release date being used.

I've asked Phil for a change (Tokina lens 11-20 mm f2.8 not being recognised). He said he would fix this. So knowing the version will help to see if the exiftool version used would have been in the fix.

I'm reluctant to just drop latest into the program files directory!

Thanks,
Aubrey.

The ExifTool version is probably not of interest to many.
You can see it in Help > About if you need to know the precise version.

Note that I don't support ExifTool versions later than the one shipped with IMatch.
Phil may (and has so two times in recent months) introduce breaking changes which require changes in IMatch to keep things working.

Before switching to a new ExifTool version, I analyze the release notes to see if there is something that may cause trouble.
Despite that, I have been fooled once and fooled again (almost) a second time when Phil renamed Composite tags and then changed the namespace used by ExifTool for XMP output.

Not very good when trying to maintain IMatch.  ::)

Perhaps on next release you would check if 12.30 will be OK.
I asked Phil to add recognition for Tokina 11-20 on 12 July.  I see that 12.29 (IMatch using) was released on 10 July.
12.30 was released on 13 August.

Thanks,
Aubrey.

I always include the latest ExifTool version with IMatch releases.
IMatch releases are shipped every six to eight weeks, unless some bug is found which affects more than one user.

Mario

I have included the ExifTool Version in the Info panel (next release).
To see it, Expert Mode must be enabled for the Dashboard.
