In the above screenshot, #s 1-4 are four separate folders that are indexed in my database.  Originally, Media & Folders didn't display them in hierarchical mode, but rather, the fully-qualified paths were flat, ie.:

  • C:\Users\Darius\Downloads\
  • C:\Users\Darius\dwhelper\
  • C:\Users\Darius\Pictures\
  • C:\Users\Darius\Videos\
But, now, for whatever reason, IMatch has chosen to 'tidy things up', by consolidating these folders, in a tree.  Although this saves space, it's not what I want, because when I, for instance, rescan "C:\Users", then there may be other subfolders, besides the once I've mentioned above, that would be added to the database, and I don't want that!  So, how can I flatten these?

The parent folder of the folders (User) is part of the database. Hence IMatch will always group these folders under their parent folder and not let them float.
Remove the User folder from your database if you don't want this. DO NOT CONFUSE this with Delete Folder.
