UK Ordnance Survey maps on Bing

In the UK Bing Maps have an option to select the Ordnance Survey maps.  Zooming in on the map changes it to the OS 1:50,000 then zooming in further gives the highly detailed 1:25,000 maps.  As shown on the attached screen shot the OS maps have a heck of a lot more detail.

However, this option isn't available when viewing the map in the IMatch map panel.  Would it be possible to add it to the Bing Maps options list?

I have never heard about this feature.

I this something that can be enabled for Bing? Does this cause additional cost?
Do you have a documentation or Bing API reference for this?
There is only a small number of users in IMatch who actually use Bing Maps. And I have not much experience at all. How's this with Google Maps, HERE Maps or OSM? Also low detail only? If not, why do you favor Bing?

If this is an option or an additional map type (like Aerial, Road, ...) for Bing, I'm sure I can add this...

PS: Which language setting do you use for IMatch?

No need for it to be enabled and no cost - it's a standard option on Bing Maps in the UK.

As above - no need.

As far as I'm aware it's only available with Bing.  Certainly not available with google but I've not tried the others.

If not, why do you favor Bing?

As does Carlo, I go to Scotland a lot (Covid permitting) and it's ideal for identifying the names of Scottish mountains etc. - easier than pulling out all the paper maps.

If this is an option or an additional map type (like Aerial, Road, ...) for Bing, I'm sure I can add this...

Yes, it's a standard option - see the top right corner of the screenshot I posted earlier.  It's an option on the drop-down list.  But I believe it's only available through a UK portal - maybe try it through a VPN?

Just a bing option (UK only, available only when the locale is en-GB) for the imagery :

imagerySet: 'OrdnanceSurvey'

(instead of Road or Aerial)

Documentation is highly hidden (or misleading), but https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/bingmaps/v8-web-control/map-control-api/maptypeid-enumeration and https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/bingmaps/rest-services/imagery/get-imagery-metadata kind of cover it...

You mean like thiz?

I have attached an updated map app for testing purposes.

1. Download the mapapp.zip below file and extract it.
2. Copy the mapapp folder into C:\ProgramData\photools.com\IMatch6\webroot\imatch\apps\FEATURES on your system, replacing the existing mapapp folder.
3. Let me know if it works

Yes, that works... 8)  Brilliant, thanks.

Just one suggestion - I would change the menu option to 'UK Ordnance Survey'.
