Title: PLEASE COMMENT - WebViewer Metadata Input
Post by: Mario on October 22, 2017, 07:30:44 PM
Hi,

I'm working full-force on the file lens feature for IMatch Anywhere. See info below for more info.
I would welcome your feedback on how I've integrated the thesaurus and recent in the Metadata panel.

All text input files have a drop-down menu which opens when you press the arrow button on the right.
The contents of this menu depend on the field type but always contain "Recently used" data and, in most cases, the Thesaurus data for the field.

For date & time fields we don't have a thesaurus, but the most frequently used date/time values and the recently used values.

All this can be both used with the mouse or touch.

Fields like "description" or "rights" which are marked in the layout as multiRow (I do that) can be resized individually by the user using + - buttons. This allows users to adapt the layout better to various screen sizes and requirements. The same we have in IMatch, if you don't know it yet  ;)

Since the Thesaurus is such a complex thing, I will (at some point) provide a web-based thesaurus editor which is to be used by users with special privileges - because the thesaurus is for all users using IMatch WebViewer.

It looks well thought out, but I would need to use it.   You mention providing a thesaurus, but I assume it will be possible to use a bespoke thesaurus.

IMatch WebViewer uses the standard IMatch Thesaurus (which is part of the database).
If you have a well-maintained thesaurus in your database, you can use it in WebViewer straight away.
