The display on the dashboard quality panel shows 0 files under a category.
Clicking on the arrow however shows all files!
On one category it shows the correct count: It is defined as "@All" NOT "_DESTINY"

I understand that you have manually added some of your categories to the Quality Panel in the Dashboard.
How are the names of these categories (full path) and what kind of categories are these?
It seems one of the categories is formula based?
I have three categories. See screenshot.
1. The already mentioned _CTRL|_DestinyNotSet which is defined as "@All" NOT "_DESTINY"
(No Alias, Not sealed, Not direct assignments only, No assignment action. Not data driven))
When I click the arrow it shows me the 2929 files of _DESTINY.???
2. _CTRL|UncataloguedByMe which is defined as "@All" NOT "CONT" NOT "COLLECTIONS" NOT "EVENT" NOT "STYLE" NOT "WhyTakenWhatFor" NOT "CS" NOT ....<many more here>"
(NB: COLLECTIONS and EVENTS are category trees I have).

3.The standard Imatch category: Unassigned Files. If I click the arrow it shows all files.
4. The category _DESTINY I added for testing. When I click the arrow it shows me the 2599 files of _CTRL|_DESTINYNotSet???

Yes
Just to make this clear: The link button opens a result window for all files not assigned to the category (it says to in the tooltip).
The idea is that you make your own quality categories when needed, and if a file is not assigned to the category, you have an outlier / problem file. And you can see these outliers via the link button.
To go to the category instead, click the category name in the Quality panel.

This is explained in the help and the button tooltip.
Adding more text in this already limited space won't help much, but definitely ruin the layout.
The text already reads n of m, which means n files of all files are in this category. And you open m - n files in the Result Window.
It surely would be more convenient to know how many files do not carry the
category.
After all the purpose is to get to zero files without the specified category.
Do we have to do compare the numbers or open the display to know if there is a problem?

Actually, you want all files to be in this category. You are applying the inverse logic. You don't test for "not good", but for "good".
Likewise the other quality checks.
If you do the inverse, you need to subtract n from m to get the "not in this category" (which is actually the all files in the database - n) or click the arrow button to open the result window, shows shows the file count.
It's really easy to do.
