Title: Creating a clickable list from Chrome (you-tube-links)
Post by: sinus on January 04, 2022, 09:24:59 PM
Hi
This has nothing really to do with IMatch, but maybe someone from you knows a solution.

I have a simple list, created from the "Read-Manager" from Chrome.
Hence every line is a simple link to a you-tube-video (music).

Here is a sample, this list is here from InDesign, but could also be from Word, it is simply copy from chrome and paste here.

This looks a bit cryptic, but I have tested this, I can copy a line, go to a browser, put it into the address-line and it works.

My question:

I want to send such lines, all with music (videos) to some friends, there are about 500 lines, but each line should be clickable.
I am not able to do this in Word or InDesign, I have tried to export, save under and so on without success.

But I guess, it should go, I hope.
Does anyone have a solution or idea?

Thanks for thinking about it.  :)

Paste the list into Word.
Go to the end of each line and press <Enter> once.
This makes Word convert the text into real links.

Format as needed.
Export as PDF and send to your friends.

Ha, stupid me!!!  >:(

I do this this, when I send a link to my customer for downloading pics .... but never thought something, I did it simply. Without put on my head.  :o

Mario, thanks really a lot, you was not only helpful with a very good solution, but also quick like a flash!
Awesome, not only for IMatch, but also for things like this.  :)
Herzlichen Dank!

Although you figured out a solution - for the future - If you want to do this in Indesign...

1 - Paste all the links into a text box
2 - Select all the links
3 - Open the Hyperlinks Panel (Window->interactive->hyperlinks)
4 - From the "hamburger" icon, choose: Convert Urls to Hyperlinks and then choose the Convert All button.

Voila!  Your exported PDF will now contain clickable hyperlinks to the url...

Enjoy - Andy!

Hey Andy

Thank you very much (I know, that you are a InDesign-expert  :D).
I did not yet do, like Mario said (but I tested it, works great), because this will take some time.
Therefore you option is very good to know.

I will look at both solutions, I have lerned two solutions.

My pleasure... using the hyperlinks function right now in fact to build an interactive PDF for a client book project... tons of URLs but quick and easy to get results!
