Title: Copying Metadata to Attributes
Post by: Thomsob on April 07, 2018, 03:27:57 AM
Hi,

(IMatch 2017) just wondering if I can copy the metadata from a number of my images, back into the file attributes. I can see how you do the opposite, but I can't work out how to do this.

cheers, Bruce

What do you mean by file attributes? The term file attributes is usually used to specify attributes and properties Windows manages in the file system for each file, e.g. read-only, date & time, privileges.

I thought that's what you called the IMatch database that sits exists within the program. i.e. select image, move cursor down to lower window, hit Page Down.... input fields appear = Attributes???
Anyway, those! Getting metadata into those fields. I want to drop it into there, re-arrange it and move back into the metadata fields of a series of duplicate images that have no metadata.

Hi:
I think that what you want will be implemented in IMatch 2018.
Please see this topic:

IMatch 2017 doesn't have such app.

JRosa.

So you are talking about the Attributes IMatch optionally manages globally or per-file? What you edit in the Attributes Panel in IMatch?

There is currently no script or app for IMatch 2017 which allows you to copy arbitrary metadata into Attributes.
As I explained in one of my recent posts:

https://www.photools.com/community/index.php?topic=7886.0

IMatch 2018 will include a generic Attribute Importer App.
