Title: Taking time to read File Relations instructions more closely
Post by: photomy on December 05, 2017, 06:14:50 PM
Might have a few questions or clarifications - here is the first one.

Found this at the beginning of the Help page and I do not see any "B" or "V" prefixes.

"Buddy Files and Versions
You can create two types of relation definitions: Buddy definitions just describe how to find buddy files for a given master file. Version definitions include additional options. In the list Buddy file definitions start with a "B", Version definitions use a "V" prefix."

Are the actual definitions stored away somewhere out of site?

Got to Preferences->File Relations.
On the left are the file relations listed, prefixed with either a V or a B

If you look at the first image at the top of the file relations page, you see the [V] and B prefixes in the list on the left. It's just how the dialog indicates what is what.

I  see - sorry about that.  I never noticed the letter next to the name/title of the definition.  I was looking for a prefix code as part of some kind of syntax/expression statement of some sort - did not expect it to be simple.
