I have just started importing my pictures. IMatch says it will take about 7 hours for metadata import. I can live with that. But I mean after that comes another step that will take again more hours.
My question is - what happens if I simply stop the import sometime and close IMatch? Will IMatch continue to import the next time on start or is everything broken?
With "Cancel" do you mean the loader overlay? If you close this dialog IMatch will continue importing the files in the background. See the documentation for the loader overlay for details (press <F1>).
If you close IMatch, it will just continue where it left off. No harm done.
IMatch estimates the remaining time based on the average duration for the last 50 to 100 files. 7 hours would indicate that you are processing 100,000 or more files, or that the performance is real slow due to massively large files or a very slow disk/network?
