Title: Dual Monitor issue - not IMatch issue
Post by: photokal on August 12, 2017, 06:11:41 PM
Hi Mario.
I've not posted much on here, as things have worked well for me since v3! I'm excited about (and purchased) IM 2017 but not using it yet as I have a number of VB -based scripts to convert and don't have the time to do so yet. No worries.

I wanted to let you and others know about a problem if you are using Windows 7 SP1 with dual monitors. The latest monthly roll-up from MS (KB4034664) introduced a problem that, at first, I thought was an IM issue. I run my database on my primary monitor but some of the panels on the second monitor.

When I opened the map panel it appeared as if IM was hung. The map panel didn't even paint any of its controls first but would eventually do so. However, it would take a matter of minutes to fully paint!

After much testing and logging and then searching, I stumbled across a this post on Born City: "Windows Update KB4034664 is causing trouble on 2nd screen" (http://borncity.com/win/2017/08/12/windows-update-kb4034664-is-causing-trouble-on-2nd-screen/)  talking about a this issue.

I rolled back the update and the map panel was back to normal.

Thought I'd post in case this might help anyone else seeing odd behavior on a dual monitor setup.

Hope this is appropriate to post here.

Thanks.
