Title: V 3.6.0 How to merge 2 databases to a new database
Post by: Moffie on June 03, 2017, 11:17:18 AM
Hi,

I have two databases with partly identical images. Instead of using both databases I want to amalgamate them. Is there a quick solution?

IMatch 3 is a legacy version of IMatch. No official support is available for this product anymore.

I thought this was a user forum of Imatch community. I was not asking for official support.

You are of course correct. This is a free community. Everybody is welcome to help ypu.
You just don't get any official support from me for your outdated product. I'm sure you can understand that.
Support from me is one of the benefits for users with a current license for IMatch.

I imagine you could export all IMatch catalog only data (categories, ratings, etc) and store them in the images files (or sidecar files).  Then, just create a new database and import all images which should rebuild the catalog.  I know I did this many many moons ago when I transitioned from Thumbsplus to Imatch 3.x... BTW: storing the data in the images also allows me to easily ensure all my data moves along with my images for any products I utilize which has been a real benefit over the years.  Good luck!
