Legacy IMatch versions (3.x) shipped with a pre-made category set named "Universal Catalog". Is this what you mean?
You can search for category names in the Category View, in the property panel below thw category tree. You can also search for categories in the Category Panel (toolbar button).

Yes. I use the Universal Catalog all the time. It makes sence to me to use the Universal Catalog. This way I don't have to recreate the wheel. All I have to do is delete the Catalogs I don't need.

You can search for category names in the Category View. So I can search ou can search for category names in the Universal Catalog?

As I said above, you can search for any category name in both the category view and the category panel. The help has all details.
