Title: "Save as" option in Database dropdown on Toolbar
Post by: Aubrey on January 08, 2015, 08:39:48 AM
Every couple of days I save my database with a new name, effectively backing up the database. As there is no "Save as" option available I go to the folder where the database is stored and do a copy and then rename. It would be nice to simply have a "Save as" this is available in most programs.

(I usually use the syntax YYMMDD_VV.imd5, thus making it easy to see which date it was saved and with which version - only keeping the incremental changes on a particular version)

Thanks,
Aubrey.

Pack & Go allows you to version databases easily.
I doubt that a "Save as" command will be used by many users and that it is not worth the effort to implement it.

Also bear in mind that IMatch stores important settings in a few other files (e.g. the imatch5.pts file in the config directory, user scripts etc.). Pack & Go includes these data as well.
