Title: understanding attribute copying, propagation
Post by: Joe Austin on August 22, 2014, 05:35:28 PM
If  I copy and paste attributes (particularly xmp data) from Master1.CR2 to Master2.CR2, should I expect Exiftool to honor the settings in Metadata2 preventing the writing of metadata to the raw file in favor of the xmp sidecar?

With automatic propagation turned on, after an attribute copy from Master1 to Master 2, should I expect Imatch to propagate xmp attribute data to the versions of Master2?  If so , should I expect all of the data copied to be propagated, or just the elements that changed within Master 2?

I know that automatic propagation applies to changes, should manual propagation force the versions to have all of the data (that is specified in the relation propagation rule)  from the master ?

1. Will work in 5.1.16.

2. The Paste Attributes commands considers versions.
