Title: Languages mixed up
Post by: Carlo Didier on July 28, 2014, 04:31:54 PM
I just noticed that there are languages mixed up in at least one right-click menu. In this case, it's French and English. I can't see why there should be anything in French, as my whole system is installed and configured in English.

You mean the names of the keyboard shortcuts?
These are supplied by Windows, they are not hard-coded into IMatch.

Hmm, strange. I can't remember ever having installed something in French ... but I have a swiss-french keyboard (by necessity). Maybe Windows interprets that somewhere.
I'll try to find other apps that display keyboard shortcuts and see what they display.

IMatch asks Windows for key names, and Windows supplies them based on the keyboard settings chosen by the user.

I hate it when software wants to be more intelligent than me ... My Windows language is English and all my regional settings are UK. Why does that bloody thing think I want anything in French, just because I'm using swiss-french keyboard? To go the whole way, it should mix German and French with that keyboard! I HATE artificial intelligence. It's lacking one important thing: Common sense!
And it's not only Microsoft, from what I've heard and seen. Many websites are just as stupid.
Well, maybe I can find a hack somewhere to get Windows to do it right.
