Title: f(x) before category in panels
Post by: Kucera on June 29, 2025, 09:44:28 PM
Hello,
my Categories and Filter panels show   f(x)   between the check-off box and the category name, just for some categories – what does it mean and how did it get there? Could not find anything in the online help or by searching here, sorry.
Regards, Emil

If you mean something like this

then this is a category-formula. Look into "Properties -> Formula" to see how it is calculated.

Or see here: Category Formulas (https://www.photools.com/help/imatch/cat_formulas.htm?dl=hid-1)

Thanks very much. That explains it, even though I can't remember creating any of my categories using  formulas.

IMatch ships with a number of default categories based on formulas (under the IMatch Workflow root category) and the @Unassigned category also uses a formula.

Not all users need to create formula categories, but it is is a powerful tool and often a problem solver.
