Title: An automation Favorite can call Favorites which no longer exist.
Post by: ubacher on May 04, 2025, 02:14:07 PM
When I create a automation favorite which calls a favorite it shows me the dropdown list of favorites to select from.
There are favorites on this list which no longer exist! I seems there are all favorites listed which have ever been defined!

The list is pulled from the list of stored favorites.
Is this your problem with invisible favorites again? I though we had fixed that versions ago...see release notes and https://www.photools.com/community/index.php?topic=15050 Maybe related?

Anyway, if they don't exist, there will be an error or warning logged? Or just nothing happens?

You said:
QuoteThe Favorites Panel hides favorites linked to another computer. But the code that adds favorites to the ribbon did not!
I just forgot about this extra condition when implementing the favorites in File Window toolbar feature.
Maybe this is just another place forgotten.

I can add the nonexisting Favorite in an Automation Favorite but when executing the favorite it complains that it can not find
the app it refers to.  If I add a Favorite which points to an event which no longer exists it just does nothing.

I have added a check for "favorite is for current user and computer".

If you have a favorite for a non-existing app, event, category, external tool, it will not work. It is your duty to keep your favorites up-to-date.
