Title: Connecting File Window and Viewer
Post by: Oglaroonian on January 06, 2025, 08:58:13 AM
Hello,

I use IMatch with two monitors, on the first the file window with a lot of thumpnails and on the second the viewer in window mode.
When I advance pictures on the viewer, the marked thumpnail on file window is not moving accordingly and vice versa.
Is it possible to link file window and viewer, so that advancing a picture on one screen advances the same picture on the other and i dont loose track on the file window? I found "link windows", but engaging it seems to change nothing. Search and manual didn“t enlighten me.

Thank you!

QuoteWhen I advance pictures on the viewer, the marked thumpnail on file window is not moving accordingly and vice versa.
This is the intended behavior. It would waste unnecessary resources to change the focus in the File Window while the user navigates in the Viewer. The vast majority of users uses only one monitor, and changing the focus in the File Window causes a large number of other updates, e.g. updates for all visible panels, data loading from the database etc.

Maybe consider using the Quick View panel on the second monitor. You can move it there and make it full-screen.
Then just navigate the File Window and the Quick View Panel will follow and show you the focused image in full-screen.

Thank you for your quick answer (on a holiday!)!

Will try the quick view panel!
