Title: A way to mark folders?
Post by: Yves Thomazeau on July 10, 2024, 10:14:28 AM
Hello.
I have got a lot of folders with photos that are totally tagged and geolocalised and some that are not or only partially .
I would like to know directly if a folder is ok or not but i found only labels for files (pictures) and nothing for folders but i may have missed this possibility.
I could of course rename the folders but il is less practical i find ..
Thank you for your help.

Maybe use color-coding for folders: Color-Coding (https://www.photools.com/help/imatch/mf_basics.htm?dl=color-coding) to indicate folders which need work or are finished?

You can also under Edit > Preferences > Indexing enable automatic color-coding for folders coming into the database and/or folders which have been updated. See: Color-coding folders
(https://www.photools.com/help/imatch/rmh_config_indexing.htm?dl=hid-26)If you color-code new folders, you can immediately see which folders "need work". And then remove the color-coding or set a different color when a folder is finished.

Have you considered setting up a filter preset which shows files which need work?

(In my case I have set up a category which shows all files which I have "processed"
which just means certain categories were set.
I can now use the QUALITY Panel in the dashboard to show me the missing files.)

For files which you add in the future you can automatically assign a Collection.
(Also under INDEXING)
When you finish "processing" a file then delete the file from the collection.

If you only find folders which need attention how do you not miss individual files in a folder
which need attention?
