Title: {BBD] Searching for one person finds none.
Post by: ubacher on March 02, 2024, 04:02:54 PM
What I tested: I wanted to perform a search for a particular person.
Similar to Imatch Search for visually similar images.

I deleted all people ( Had only 6)
I have 8021 Files with faces.
I select one image containing the face of interest.
I open the viewer, click on the face and create a new person. I put a name only.
People window shows the person.
I now expected that after some time Imatch would present ( in the face manager) all found
matching faces under unconfirmed faces. I waited 20 min. No unconfirmed faces!
(For a while (minutes)  Imatch was busy - especially the GPU. See screenshot )

Question: should it not have searched for matching faces automatically? Or is this a bug?
Is there a way to force it to search for matching faces?

I then opened the People manager and selected Process unassigned and unconfirmed faces.

This did not take long and now I had 149 people show up. These had unconfirmed faces.
The original person still had no unconfirmed faces but showed up as  Person 104.
It had 40 unconfirmed faces (and no false ones!)

Try to assign the person to more than one face and confirm.
One face is not nearly enough as a training set for the face recognition to work.
I doubt this is a bug.

Tried with two faces. Same result.

Turn on "automatic assign persons to faces" (see your screen shot). Not sure why you have disabled this, it is enabled by default. Consider lifetime should also be on, unless you had very good reasons to disable it?
