Title: naming of stacks
Post by: Winfried on December 01, 2013, 01:10:53 PM
Is it possible to give a name to a stack?
Example: I shot 6 photos for stiching a panorama. So I stack these 6 photos and would like to give this stack a name: "Panorama Feldberg 1. Versuch" or something like this.
If this is not yet possible, maybe this is a feature request.

I am using ICE (Microsoft Composite Image Editor) which by default names the assembled panorama
<filename>_stitch.jpg  where <filename> is the first image passed to the assembler.
This assembled file I put at the top of the stack. Works well this way because it makes it clear from what file(s) the
panorama was assembled.

I'm resurrecting this feature request right now because I was just now searching this forum for such functionality!

For what would a "stack name" be used? Displayed somewhere?
I would just use an Attribute of type text to record the info for the top file. This can then be shown in the file window, tooltips and used for many other purposes...it immediately integrates with variables, filters, the sort and search functions and more.
