Title: Version stack shows higher number than image count
Post by: Stuntflyer on July 05, 2023, 05:02:22 AM
I'm not sure what is happening here. I searched all local drives and only see these three files.

Select the top and open the Stack Panel via <F9>,<S> or if this is a version stack, open the Version Panel via <F9>,<V>.

Does the number in the File Window really refer to the number of versions? Or to the number of files in the version stack (which means that the master counts also)? I think it is the latter one: When I look at a pair of files (like ARW + JPG), having a simple relation rule ARW->JPG active, the counter displays 2 - and I have exactly one master and one version.

A second reason the number might differ from what is expected: If there are multiple relations active for the same collection of files, these seem to count separately. E.g. just add a "Manual only" rule, then create a manual link between ARW and JPG: The number displayed in the file window will increase by one, although we have still only two files.

If a stack has a master and 3 versions, the count is 4.
Your assessment about the multiple version rules apply to the same set of files.
Each version rule counts the master on top.

Without knowing your File Relation rules, I can only guess:
Please show us you relation rules - I think the number can be explained.

4 images in that stack.
Stack counter shows 4.
Correct.
Some of your versions are also masters (see version icon).

The versions panel shows 4 files.
I cannot see the file names in your screen shot. Your have "Show details" set to off.
Which of the files shown in the Version panel does not exist?
You can use the goto command to find out if the file exists and where.

Based on what you just told me I was able to remove the 3rd image .tif from the version link. All is good now, I think!

Thank you
