Title: No files pending
Post by: frankdarwin on May 24, 2022, 11:52:11 AM
I see several files in the file window where I am told that metadata needs to be written (Filewindow.jpg). In the collections I don't see any files where the metadata has to be written (Collections.jpg).
When I want to write metadata I get the message that no files need to be written (No files pending.jpg).

Why is this?

What happens when you click on the pen?
Open the ExifTool output panel before so you can see if IMatch is writing data.

How did this happen?
Is this reproducible?
When did you notice this and what did you do before?
Do you write back manually or automatically?
Do you use versioning and if so, are these files affected? If so, what do you propagate?

I assume that running a database diagnosis should produce some warnings and fix this (files with changes not in pending files, or files without changes in pending files).

I ran the database diagnostics and got these 2 warnings:

Warning: File [51376] face [38281] has a mismatch in face/anno sort order.
Warning: File [51377] face [38284] has a mismatch in face/anno sort order.

After re-execution, there were no more warnings or errors.

After that, I was shown 17 files with unwritten metadata in the collections, which I was also able to write back successfully.

I have this happening occasionally - yellow pencil shows but does not show anything to be
written. Seems the turning off of the pencil failed somehow.

I never investigated this problem - just ignored it.
