Post by: frlindla on January 24, 2022, 09:41:40 AM
I have turned off this in the settings, but still Imatch opens the database in read-only mode. How can I fix this?

What did you change before this happened?
Moved database to another computer or disk? Changed you user account?

1. Double-check that the option is not enabled in the Database menu

2. Attach the log file. See log file (https://www.photools.com/help/imatch/#im_logfile.htm)

This will tell us why IMatch opens the database in read-only mode.
If the option to open databases in read-only mode in the Database menu is not enabled, the only reasons for IMatch to open a database read-only are:
+ Trial Version expired
+ Database file is marked as read-only on the file system
+ The user has no write privileges to the folder containing the database or the database file
+ A virus checker is blocking IMatch from opening the file

I did a database diagnosis and a backup of the database. In the database menu, it says that Imatch open the database in read only mode. But the setting is set to "no" in the preferences.

See the log file attached.

IMatch reports:

Database file read-only/on read-only media.

It does not report that opening the database in read-only mode was requested, which means that the option is off.
Check your file system permissions etc.
