Mario,
Today, suddenly a list of empty folders appeared under my folder list in Anywhere. No clue where they are coming from or how to remove them. Tried rebooting but no change. Please see attachment.
Neal
Open the database with IMatch and check for these folders.
They are not there in IMatch or anywhere on the computer. I did a search on the entire computer.
It cannot be that IMWS is delivering folders which don't exist in the database (they must not necessarily exist on your hard drive, when these folders are off-line or have been moved).
IMWS does not make up folder names.
Are you sure that IMA is using the same database as IMatch? Not e.g. a test database or a copy from some time before?
That's indeed a common mistake if users don't use the same database for IMatch Anywhere and IMatch.
I fell for that one myself one or two times ::)
I am sure. I copy the IM DB to the Anywhere designated folder every day after turning off Anywhere first. Also, I made sure that there are no other drives that could be accessed through a share. Any other ideas?
Neal
No idea. IMWS cannot invent folders, and the names of these folders seem pretty sensible to me...
Perhaps use a search tool to look for a folder with the same name as appearing in database.
I use "everything", free software works well on all local disks (not Nas)

As Mario says, IMWS doesn't invent files.
Folder names appear to have medical lab connotations, does this make sense to you?
Did database get opened on another computer and archiving of folders perhaps started? Maybe data in folders was read protected and not loaded?
Intriguing!
Aubrey
Mario,
I found in IM that there was an unknown drive that had all those folders which were all offline. I deleted the drive and all folders from the database and that fixed the problem. This is just FYI.
